Ride Report - Laura Susmann
As I loaded my horse into the trailer in the pouring rain early Saturday morning thoughts were something like "I wonder if any of the riders will actually come today? And wow, I have really lost it this time!" as the lightning flashed and the thunder boomed. But as the weatherman had predicted, the sky lightened and actually cleared and by the time the riders were arriving in Greenfield, the sun was out.
Twenty four faithful gathered and exchanged stories of the nasty weather encountered on the trip to the ride but they were rewarded with a super day for riding - sunny, bit of a breeze and some trails in the shady woods. Everyone enjoyed the Kokal family farm - parking is so easy there. Once again chef Art Susmann manned the grill with burgers, hot dogs and sausage along with fruit salad, pasta salad, three bean salad and brownies for dessert.
Mary Page of Richmond, NH won the "door prize" of the NHAHA logo bag.
Thanks to Julia Webb and Carolyn Beard for their assistance in unmarking the trail.
